Jeanette Estelle (Guertin) Townsend died Monday, Aug. 4 at her Portland home. She was 96.
HILLSBORO — Stanley Robert Zajdel, a former Franciscan priest and member of St. Matthew Parish, died Sunday, Aug. 24 at his home after a long battle with multiple myeloma. He was 71.
FOREST GROVE — Herman J. Mayer, a longtime member of St. Anthony Parish, died Tuesday, Aug. 12. He was 83.
Mr. Mayer was born Feb. 8, 1925 in Portland to Carl and Wilma Mayer. He was raised and received his early education in Portland, then attended Visitation High School in Verboort and later graduated from Forest Grove High School, class of 1944.
Jacklyn C. (Lawler) Bocci died Aug. 11 of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and emphysema. She was 74.
Mrs. Jacklyn Bocci was born July 19, 1934, in Portland. She graduated from Holy Child Academy and was a legal secretary in the trust department at U.S. Bank. In 1955, she married George Bocci, who died in 1981.
Joanne (Ellis) Pinder, a longtime member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, died Thursday, Aug. 14 in Portland. She was 76.
Ernie Corno, a member of St. Stephen Parish in Southeast Portland, died Thursday, Aug. 14 in Portland. He was 96.
Mr. Corno was born April 20, 1912 in Portland and graduated from Washington High School. He ran the meat market at his family business, Corno’s Market and was a member of Riverside Country Club and Portland Bowling Hall of Fame.
Richard Leonard Rausch, a member of St.. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, died Monday, Aug. 11 in Portland. He was 80.
Donald Arthur Leahy, a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, died Wednesday, July 30 in Portland of natural causes. He was 74.
Mr. Leahy was born Sept. 11, 1933 in Portland and attended Cathedral school and Central Catholic High School. He attended Oregon State University, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, and also went to Portland State University.
VANCOUVER — Eileen Jane (Ryan) Remillard, a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, died Friday, Aug. 1 of natural causes. She was 85.
Mrs. Remillard was born June 13, 1923 in Everett, Wash., and moved to Portland in 1930. She attended Cathedral grade school and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy.
Irene (Malanima) Orselli, a lifetime member of Assumption Parish, died Wednesday, Aug. 23 of natural causes. She was 103.
