Joanne (Ellis) Pinder, a longtime member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, died Thursday, Aug. 14 in Portland. She was 76.
Mrs. Pinder was born Sept. 30, 1931 in Eugene and moved to Portland as a child. She attended Holy Child Academy and earned a bachelor’s degree from Lewis and Clark College and a master’s from University of Oregon in 1956. She married Robert Pinder in 1955 and worked as a homemaker and private piano teacher.
Survivors include her husband; daughter Mary Beth Pinder; sons Mark, Matthew, Michael, Martin and Marshall Pinder and 13 grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was held Aug. 19 at St. Rose of Lima. Remembrances may be made to Central Catholic High School, St. Rose of Lima or St. Vincent de Paul.
