Richard "Dick" Collins, 87, died Feb. 22. There will be a funeral Mass at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 4, at Holy Trinity Church, 13715 SW Walker Rd., Beaverton, followed by a reception at the Multnomah Athletic Club.
Mr. Collins was born in Portland to Vincent and Catherine (O’Brien) Collins. He attended St. Rose, Columbia Prep and the University of Portland. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1953. Upon his return to Portland, he met and married Patricia Bacon in 1954. They moved to Beaverton in 1959 to raise their three children. In 1966, Mr. Collins began a long career in the insurance business. His success provided for his passions, family, golf, and the Oregon Coast, which were constants throughout his life.
Mrs. Collins predeceased Mr. Collins in 2013, after 59 years of marriage. Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his brothers, Brian, Kevin and Joseph.
Mr. Collins is survived by his children and grandchildren: daughter Cathy and Kelly of Raleigh Hills; son Rick (Marilee) of Spokane, David of Bellevue and Kendall of Seattle; son Mike (Vici), Becca, Gus and Joe, of North Plains.
