BEAVERTON — Vincent Demarinis, 88, died Feb. 5 from complications from Alzheimer’s. There was a funeral Mass at Holy Trinity.
Mr. Demarinis was born Nov. 1, 1928, in Portland to Frank and Carmela Demarinis. He attended St. Philip Neri Parish. He graduated from Washington High School and the University of Portland. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He earned a master’s degree from University of Portland.
He and MaryLou Reidy married June 13, 1959. Mr. Demarinis taught business education at Sunset High School for over 25 years. He became a parishioner at Holy Trinity and became active in parish life, teaching religious education in his early years, and then, after retiring, being a eucharistic minister and volunteering in the food closet, as an usher, Meals on Wheels, the homebound ministry, the men’s group and as a Faith Cafe kitchen leader.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Joe.
He is survived by his wife, his children, Michelle Gorman of Portland, Frank Demarinis of Seattle and Julie Rockford of Beaverton; his brother, Pat Demarinis; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
