MaryLou Caniparoli Storm, 70, died peacefully Jan. 27 in her home and surrounded by family after a hard-fought battle with cancer. At her request, there will be no services.
Mrs. Storm was born Oct. 24, 1946, to Dr. Sante Dario Caniparoli and Roberta Blanche (Snyder) Caniparoli in Portland. She attended St. Rose School, Holy Child Academy, and Grant High School. She attended Willamette University before moving to Denver, where she would meet her future husband Ralph Edward Storm Jr. After their marriage, they made their home in Portland, where they raised their family.
Mrs. Storm was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. As a home-maker she was known as "Mom" to her children’s many friends. She could be found volunteering on field trips, at the school library, tutoring and fundraising when her children were young. She then became active in the Providence Child Center Guild alongside her mother, volunteering, fundraising, and eventually serving as its president.
Mrs. Storm later became a co-owner and business woman who along with her husband operated their company, Creative Oak Products, until their retirement. The two then enjoyed exploring the Pacific Northwest, spending much of their time at the Oregon coast and Mount Hood. Mrs. Storm cared for both of her aging parents with love and devotion. She supported her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren's passions, dreams, and endeavors. Some of her hobbies included travel, golfing, painting, and enjoying the fine arts, such as the symphony and the theater.
Mrs. Storm volunteered and donated to a number of organizations including, ASPCA, Oregon Humane Society, Providence Child Center Guild, HRC and OPB.
She is survived by her children, Dario Storm, Katie Bouldin and Eric Storm; her stepchildren, Mark Storm, Cynthia Backer and James Storm; six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Ralph “Ed” Storm Jr.
