FOREST GROVE — Ruth Doris Krieger, 87, a longtime resident of the Forest Grove community, died Nov. 15, 2016, at her home. There was a funeral Mass at Visitation Church, Verboort.
Mrs. Krieger was born Aug. 1, 1929 in Langlois, the daughter of the late Sherman Dewey and Esther (Chenoweth) Keeler. They lived in Bandon then Grants Pass, and finally settling in Forest Grove, where she was raised and continued her education. During school, she worked at the Tip Top Restaurant, where she met her future husband, Ed. She later worked in Quality Control and Assembly at Tektronix, Inc. in Beaverton for over 20 years and as a chef at the Forest Grove Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #2440.
She and Edwin Krieger married Jan. 12, 1946.
She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Forest Grove and was a Elkette at the Forest Grove Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #2440, having served as a president of the Elkettes.
Among her interests she enjoyed spending time with family, making pies, hosting family dinners, camping and her monthly card game night with her friends.
Mr. Krieger died July 10, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Keeler.
Survivors include her four children and their spouses, Allan and Linda Krieger, of Otter Rock, Oregon; Gary and Meredith Krieger, of Gales Creek, Oregon; Sharon Robinson and Pavel Bauer, of Forest Grove, Oregon and Diana and Paul Waterstreet, of Forest Grove, Oregon.
Also surviving are her 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
