St. Luke Production’s re-launched “Saint Francis: Troubadour of God’s Peace” is in the archdiocese this month, beginning tonight. Upcoming dates are:
7 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, Seton High School Chapel, 9000 NE 64th Ave., Vancouver, Washington
7 p.m. Thursday, March 23, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3700 79th Ave., Portland
Sean Tivenan, a Catholic actor and singer, plays St. Francis.
Tivenan is a graduate of the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where he earned a degree in musical theater. His resume includes roles in theater, independent films, commercials and narrating audio-books. He is a cantor for his home parish.
Tivenan says he believes live theater has a unique ability to bring audiences to face-to-face with the saints in a relatable way, and he hopes that through this production, audiences will experience the infectious simplicity and joy of St. Francis.
