CORNELIUS — Marilyn Cristal Manriquez Gutierrez, 22, a lifelong resident of the Cornelius community, died Dec. 3, 2016, of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident in Seaside. There was a funeral Mass at St. Anthony Church, Forest Grove.

Interment was at the cemetery of Rancho La Palma de Altamira, Municipio de Ario de Rosales, Michoacan, Mexico.

Manriquez Gutierrez was born Sept. 17, 1994, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Panfilo Manriquez Pineda and Eduwiges Gutierrez. She was raised and received her education in the communities of Cornelius and Forest Grove, graduating from Forest Grove High School, class of 2013. She then received a cosmology license from the Northwest College of Hair Design and worked as a beautician.

She married Leoncio Lara Garcia Aug. 20, 2016, in Hillsboro.

She was an active member of the St. Anthony Parish in Forest Grove, Oregon.

Among her special interests she enjoyed concerts, movies, bowling, eating out with her husband, gathering and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed shopping and was very passionate about fashion. Marilyn also loved nature, hiking, parks, art, animals, music, dancing and attending Mexican rodeos. She also enjoyed traveling and exploring new cultures.

Marilyn was a generous, honest and lovable person who always had a smile on her face and always respected others without judgment.

Survivors include her husband, Leoncio Lara Garcia, of Hillsboro; her parents, Panfilo Manriquez Pineda and Eduwiges Gutierrez, of Cornelius; her grandmother, Maria Socorro Villalobos Gutierrez, of Cornelius; her brother, Pablo Manriquez Gutierrez, of Cornelius; and her two sisters, Adriana Manriquez Gutierrez and Andrea Manriquez Gutierrez, both of Cornelius.

Also surviving are her aunts and uncles of her father:  Adela Manriquez Pineda, of Mexico; Gregorio and Abigail Manriquez Juarez, of Forest Grove; Fabiola and Ismael Huanaco Manriquez, of Mexico; Florinda and Valentin Velazquez Manriquez, of Cornelius; Maria Angela and Ignacio Garcia Manriquez, of Modesto, California; Regino and Cruz Manriquez Gonzales, of Forest Grove;  Luis and Claudia Manriquez Pineda, of Mexico; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are her aunts and uncles on her mother's side: Abraham and Maria Bedolla, of Mexico; Juana Bedolla Gutierrez, of Mexico; representing her aunt, Antonia King, her children, Jorge Gutierrez and Giovanni Tayetto, both of Cornelius; Ruth and Hector Aguilar Gutierrez, of Chicago, Illinois; Lourdes and Juan Gomez Gutierrez, of Cornelius; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
